One in Four: Designing Research for Everyone

One in four Canadians lives with a disability, yet their voices remain among the most underrepresented in market research. This panel brings together researchers, practitioners, and advocates living and working at the intersection of disability, inclusion, and data to ask: are we actually capturing the full market, or are we systematically excluding it?

From invisible chronic conditions to barriers in digital participation, our panelists will share firsthand experience and professional expertise on what it means to design research that is truly accessible and not just compliant. The conversation will move beyond ramps and checkboxes to examine how study design, participant recruitment, data interpretation, and industry culture either close or widen the gap.

Panelists will explore how lived experience reshapes professional practice, why invisible disability demands a rethinking of assumptions, and what researchers and clients can do right now to build inclusion into every phase of the research process.
